North Coast

California
North Coast Region – Arcata, Eureka, Mendocino, Petaluma, Santa Rosa, Sebastopol, Sequoia Redwoods, Sonoma, Ukiah
The North Coast Region runs along the Pacific Ocean (Highways 1 or 101) from Oregon on the north to the San Francisco Bay Area Region on the south. It's bordered on the east by the Shasta Cascade Region and the Gold Country. The North Coast Region is a naturalist's paradise and a haven for plants and animals, ranging from the old-growth redwoods to wild salmon, to eagles, elk, whales and sea lions.
You'll find seaside villages, Victorian-era towns, nature preserves, vineyards, world-famous wineries and spectacular hiking tails, as well as off-beat of artist's enclaves, excellent restaurants and music festivals. The entire feeling of the North Coast can change depending on the weather: foggy, sunny, misty or rainy.
